Fragrance:
Chocolate Layer Cake
Manufacturer:
Yankee Candle
Candles
Sampled: votive.
Chocolate scents are nothing new to Yankee
Candle. They’ve done it a few times with various scents like Whoopie Pie,
Chocolate Truffle, etc. But when I saw this at the Cheektowaga, New York
location, I absolutely had to give it a try. So, I bought a votive of it (and
their new Berrylcious scent).
The first thing to know about this candle
is that the scent is extremely authentic. It really does smell like what you’d
expect chocolate layer cake to smell like. I’m very lucky because I can enjoy
foodie scents without ever actually getting a food craving. So, you don’t have
to worry about it smelling fake or like chemically-enhanced junk. It smells
like the real thing.
Second, the throw is excellent. And this
is just from the votive candle, not the jar or the tart, which is typically
stronger. Let the wax pool just a little bit and you’ll quickly fill the room
with its scent. I’ve not used other forms for this scent yet, but I won’t rule
it out. I would imagine the jars and tarts will be even stronger.
